December already and that means a busy month at the Hall

Saturday 15 December to get you all in the mood for party season we start off with our cabaret night with song and dance from the ABBA Babes, who doesn’t love a bit of ABBA.

The ABBA Babes are a tribute duo, sorry the original band were double booked and you know we always try to bring you the best! Anyways, the Babes are coming to us highly recommended and have promised to give us another fantastic night.

The meal this time, a real winter favourite of Sausage & Mash, followed with Sticky Toffee Pudding & Custard.

Tickets £15.00 available from the Artichoke @ Broome, where you can get your takeaway beers, also from Jackie 079844991929.

Wednesday 19 December is of course our Christmas Soup Lunch, this is strictly pre-booked ticket only as space is limited.

The Armistice Ceremony last month I thought was fantastic, so many people and the new Memorial and sign is something that we can all be proud of. Let’s make sure that we use it at least once a year.

Thank you to everyone involved from the building to the laying of the wreaths and the huge support from people far and wide. Where did you all come from! And what fantastic weather.

Wishing you all the joys of Christmas, take care of each other and I’ll see you in the New Year.

Fred.

The theme for the November coffee morning was the Commemoration of the end of WW1, a sing-a-long, a raffle and auction was enjoyed by all. We even had the committee in period costume (see photo below).

The theme for December’s coffee morning will be Christmas, so there will have to be a few carols and Christmas songs playing. Those Christmas jumpers bought last year are a must wear by those willing to enter into the spirit of the season so early and the committee might be persuaded to dress up again!

January’s meeting will go ahead as usual (even though it will only be the 2nd of January) and the theme will be a low key easing into the new year with a gentle quiz as the fun item.

We also run a helpline between 0900 – 1700 Mon -Fri. We have a very limited number of volunteer drivers, who might be able to assist residents getting to hospital/doctor’s appointments, collection of prescriptions or a trip to the local shops.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER AS A DRIVER! PLEASE CONTACT THE CHAIR OF THE GROUP, COLIN RAFFERTY, AT OUR MONTHLY COFFEE MORNINGS

Merry Christmas to all who join us at the coffee mornings and generate such a great community feeling.
From the BVCG team.

C.A.M.E.O. CLUB
Just to let you know that there is no C.A.M.E.O. meeting in December but we meet again in the New Year on the 25th January.

The team wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year and look forward to seeing you again in January.
