Well, Hello again!
Seems a really long time since I put something together for the village hall.
September already and that means Soup Lunches are on again, the first one this season will be Wednesday 18th September, and then the third Wednesday of each month until April, hope you can make it.
It has been quite a busy summer behind the scenes for us at the hall. Many of you will know that we have a big problem with the drainage at the hall and there is no quick fix so, we are having to connect to the main sewer, not cheap. Hazel and I have been working away applying for grants etc. Fingers crossed.
We tried again to put something on for the summer by way of a Car Boot Sale, total failure , we had three pitches booked, so obviously we could not go ahead with it so sorry for any disappointment. We tried. ( I am still holding a deposit for one lady, please give me a call so that I can repay you. I don’t have your phone number.)
This month, 21st Sept 10am to midday, our Stacey will be hosting one of her “Wellbeing” sessions , the last one was very well received by all who attended and I think this one will be even better. There is a more explanatory page attached.
Coming up for October, Pie & Quiz Night Saturday 26 Oct, further details to follow.
Regards to all,
There will be a meeting of C.A.M.E.O. Club on Friday 27th September from 2.00pm to 4.00pm in Broome Village Hall. All are welcome.
Join us for tea, coffee and homemade cakes, maybe have some fun with a game of cards, scrabble or dominoes or just have a chat and meet people. We have a selection of books to borrow. The cost is just £1 including refreshments.
Hope to see you there.
From the C.A.M.E.O. Team
BORDER VILLAGES COMMUNITY GROUP
The Border Villages Community Group coffee mornings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 1030 – 1200 at Broome Village hall.
Our aim is to encourage residents, friends and neighbours to meet up once a month to enjoy the great community spirit, have a tea/coffee, a chat, a fun quiz and a raffle. All are welcome. Entrance is only 50p per person.
Unfortunately, we have had to suspend our helpline with immediate effect. This is due to the lack of volunteers available and some unreasonable demands from outside of our area on our resources and we can no longer provide a service sufficiently to serve our community. We sincerely apologise to all of those people who relied upon the service.
Well, has everyone enjoyed their summer? We had an enjoyable sing-a-long with “Tony Deff” ( our chairman Colin) at the July coffee morning, so much so that he even got a booking to repeat the show at one of our local care homes (He is available for birthdays, christenings and Bar mitzvahs).
August coffee morning had a good turnout and consisted of the usual activities with bingo thrown in.
September 4th is the next coffee morning and will this month include a quiz. So come along, have a chat, meet your neighbours and enjoy yourself in a relaxing atmosphere.
Just a reminder, October’s coffee morning will be for the McMillan Cancer Care and ALL profits will go to that charity, so please think of baking some cakes that we can sell on the morning to make some money. Thank you.
We will be holding our AGM at 1200 hours, immediately after the next Coffee Morning 4th Sept. All are welcome to attend.”
