Suffolk Cottage Garden Society are organising a coach trip to the RHS Garden at Hyde Hall in Essex on Sunday 18th August and invite non members to join us for this trip.

We meet in Broome Village Hall during the winter for monthly meetings and talks and for the summer months we visit exceptional local  gardens on  private tours.

Hyde hall is a one of four flagship gardens of the RHS and is set in the rolling hills of Essex.

The whole site covers 360- acres and includes Visitor Centre, Restaurant/Café, Dry Garden, Winter Garden, World style Vegetable Garden, Greenhouses and lots more to fill the day.

The cost is £20 which includes coach travel from Broome Village Hall and the cost of entry to the gardens.

We leave Broome Village Hall at 9.00 am arriving at Hyde hall at around 11.00am and depart at 3.00 pm. This trip is being subsidised by C.G.S as it is our summer outing and we would welcome any non members to join us on this day.

To enquire or book please phone Philip or Sue Taylor on 01508 518177

We look forward to you joining us.

The Villagers gardening Club Committee are pleased to announce that the donations due to the clubs closure in December 2018 were sent to the following local charities:-

  • The East Anglian Air Ambulance
  • Earsham Conservation and Wetland Centre
  • Broome Village Hall War Memorial Fund

We would like to express our thanks to everyone who supported the club when it was up and running.

There will be a meeting of C.A.M.E.O Club on Friday July 26th from 2pm to 4pm in Broome Village Hall. All are welcome.

Join us for tea, coffee and homemade cakes, maybe have some fun with a game of cards, scrabble or dominoes, or just have a chat and meet people. We have a selection of books to borrow. The cost is just £1 including refreshments.

Hope to see you there

The Border Villages Community Group coffee mornings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 1030 – 1200 at Broome Village hall.
Our aim is to encourage residents, friends and neighbours to meet up once a month to enjoy the great community spirit, have a tea/coffee, a chat, a fun quiz and a raffle. All are welcome. Entrance is only 50p per person.
We also run a helpline if you need a lift to the doctors/hospital/local shop/collection of prescription and you have no other way of getting there, then we may be able to help. We have a small number of volunteers who, if available, might be able to give you a lift.
The helpline number is 07928 226603.
The next coffee morning is on 3rd July and as well as the usual routine, this month will see a sing-a-long with “Tony Deff” or Colin (our committee chairman) as he is usually known. A few popular songs covering a few decades, (“gawd help us if I have sing on my own”). We will also provide a strawberry and cream scone to accompany your cuppa.

The August coffee morning is 7th August when we’ll have bingo as the main entertainment.

So see you all then.
