Village Hall News
Lots of things happening at the hall shortly.
We have the AGM on the 12th of this month and we would love to see you all there, especially as we need to elect a new committee.
Possibly the last soup lunch on the 18th unless we can find a new team to take over. We have had some very enjoyable times running the soup lunches and of course it has greatly helped to improve and maintain the hall to the standard that it is in now. Ideally a team of three in the kitchen and three to put up the tables etc. Oh, and don’t forget the cake makers. If you are interested please call me and have a chat. 01986 895414.
The hall will be closed for decorating for one week from Fri 10th – 17th April.
VE75 Bank Holiday Friday 8th May
A lot of work and ideas all coming together for our Family Fun Day please see the posters. They are, at the moment, a guide as to what will be happening on the day.
Broome and Ditchingham parish councils are working together for this event and we welcome everyone, no matter where you live.
We are a bit short of helpers (and some ideas) for the children’s games so any offers out there?
The village hall car park will be closed for the day, for safety and also for us to have a short wreath laying ceremony to the Heroes of WW2 followed by a toast to all who served our country during those dark days. This will be accompanied by a Piper.
So, like I said, lots going on. Come and join us.
The next meeting of C.A.M.E.O. Club will be on Friday 27th March 2020 in Broome Village Hall from 2pm to 4pm. All are welcome.
Join us for tea, coffee and homemade cakes, maybe have some fun with a game, borrow a book or DVD or just have a chat.
The cost is just £1 including refreshments.
From all at the C.A.M.E.O. team
BORDER VILLAGES COMMUNITY GROUP
The Border Villages Community Group coffee mornings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 1030 – 1200 at Broome Village hall.
Our aim is to encourage residents, friends and neighbours to meet up once a month to enjoy the great community spirit, have a tea/coffee, a chat, a fun quiz and a raffle. All are welcome. Entrance is only 50p per person (and it’s not just for retired people, it’s for everyone).
The March Coffee Morning will be held on the Weds 4th March, all the usual enjoyment.
As we are a non-profit organisation and all monies raised come from you, we felt that any spare monies (after our expenditures) should be ploughed back into the Coffee Morning group.
Therefore, we posed the question last month about an event sometime in the summer months and whether it would be preferred in the morning, afternoon or evening. The overwhelming response so far has been an afternoon. You still have time to let us know your preferred option at the next Coffee Morning and the committee will then work on our planning for the event. We will let you know in due course what has been arranged.
