Broome Village Hall

Firstly, I wish you all the very best for a Happy New Year!

Now, a big Thank you to Robert & Mark for stepping in to cook the Christmas Lunch along with the rest of our fantastic team, all making it happen again.

So early into the New Year and we are already planning events for the coming year and as usual we will start  with our very popular Curry & Quiz Night. A bit later this year as the village hall is fully booked, so a note for your diaries  CURRY NIGHT Saturday March 16th.  The usual BYO Drinks, glasses provided. £12.00 per person, all curries and side dishes cooked freshly in our kitchen. There will be a Vegetarian curry and also Sweet & Sour Pork for those who don’t like spicy food. Usually 5or 6 different dishes to choose from.

Tickets from The Artichoke or from me,( Fred) 01986 895414.

Many of you will remember that we had what was basically a mailing list, e mails, so that we could keep you advised of planed events. That seems to have gone by the wayside of late but there is no reason why we can’t do it again. So, if you would like to be kept informed send me your email address, in confidence, and I will put another list together.

We will be baking Hot Cross Buns again on Good Friday Morning, would you believe 600 last year!!

Plans for a Midsummer Family BBQ June 22nd from 4pm – 8pm (or later) are in the early stages and then a music and dance night in the Autumn with dinner of course.

So you can see that with all the other activities that happen at Broome it’s a fairly lively place to be and there is always a welcome at our events.

See you all soon, Spring is just around the corner! Have you noticed the birds starting to sing again?

There will be a meeting of C.A.M.E.O. Club on Friday 22nd February from 2.00pm to 4.00pm in Broome Village Hall. All are welcome.

Join us for tea, coffee and homemade cakes, maybe have some fun with a game of cards, scrabble or dominoes or just have a chat and meet people. We have a selection of books to borrow. The cost is just £1 including refreshments. If you have trouble with transport and live locally please phone 01508 518177 and we will try to arrange a lift for you.

Hope to see you there.

Border Villages Community Group
The Border Villages Community Group coffee mornings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 1030 – 1200 at Broome Village hall.
Our aim is to encourage residents, friends and neighbours to meet up once a month to enjoy the great community spirit, have a tea/coffee, a chat, a fun quiz and a raffle. All are welcome. Entrance is only 50p per person.
A belated Happy New Year to you all.
The Border Villages Community group held our first coffee morning of the year on the 2nd January, the hardy and also battle weary(from the Christmas festivities) managed to turnout and we had a fairly quiet start into the new year with a quiz and a raffle.
Our next coffee morning will be on Weds 6th February, the usual activities of coffee/tea, chat, a lighthearted quiz (this month on the subject of Valentine and Love) and a raffle will be the order of the day
So do come along and have a bit of a laugh and a chat, you never know, you might win a small prize on either the quiz or the raffle.
See you then
The BVCG team.
